Abstract

This paper was about the case of the large bone defect in the anterior mandible caused by tumor of a 34-yearold female, which needed mandibular reconstruction before implant treatment, and present a brief review of the literature. The anterior portion of mandible was reconstructed using tissue-engineered cranial bone and free iliac bone graft and thereafter immediate first implant surgery. At long-term follow-up (54 months), the bone level nearby implants maintained and iliac bone resorption was not ob served at that time. The proper size of free block bone graft and simultaneous implant installation for large mandibular defect was a good choice of treatment to recover function, anatomy and esthetics with less resorption of graft and no complications.
